Congratulations to Eli Eis – IEC of Kansas Apprentice of the Year Competitor!

IEC of Kansas proudly recognizes Eli Eis of Young Electric for his outstanding performance at the 2025 IEC National Apprentice of the Year Competition in Phoenix, Arizona. Eli earned an impressive 4th place overall and captured 1st place in the Wire-Off event with a remarkable score of 489 out of 500. He also achieved the same written exam score as the first-place winner, demonstrating his exceptional knowledge and consistency across all competition areas.

This national event brings together top fourth-year apprentices from across the country—many of whom first won local wire-off contests in their home chapters—to test their knowledge, skill, and precision through a series of challenging written and hands-on evaluations. Representing one of the smallest graduating classes in the nation—with just seven apprentices—Eli competed against contestants from chapters with more than 100 students per class, making his accomplishment even more extraordinary.

Eli’s success was celebrated by a strong group of supporters in attendance: his wife Anna, daughter Lucy, and his parents; Ellen Young, owner of Young Electric, employee  Jaxen Young; Eli’s fourth-year instructor, Young Electric’s Project Manager, and IECKS Vice President Kevin DeWitt; also from IEC of Kansas, Executive Director Keely Stevens, Past President Aaron Stevens, President Jason Snell, and Barb Snell.

We are incredibly proud of Eli’s performance, professionalism, and the way he represented both IEC of Kansas and Young Electric on the national stage.
