Safe work practices, training and knowledge
All Young Electric electricians are highly trained in safe work practices as required of the potentially elevated hazards that can be encountered with industrial medium voltage applications. These include assessment of “Approach Boundary” Classifications, which are a shock protection boundary base on each system’s voltage:
Limited Approach Boundary – the allowable distance for “unqualified” (non-electricians)
Restricted Approach Boundary – the allowable distance for qualified persons with knowledge and training to avoid accidental contact
Prohibited Approach Boundary – the required distance for a person to assume he or she will make contact with energized equipment. This requires being equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Young Electric is fully compliant with NFPA 70E Standard For Electrical Safety. Our Quality Person training includes hazard and risk assessment, lockout/tagout and other vital procedures in order to achieve an electrically safe work condition.
