Meet Young Electric's Two New IEC Apprentices

Young Electric has two apprentices enrolled in the IEC Apprenticeship 4-year Program! Knowledge, training, and learning are very important values to us here at Young Electric. IEC's training program provides knowledge, technical skills, and practical experience necessary to succeed in today’s electrical trade. The IEC Apprenticeship Program is highly regarded in the electrical industry and recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor and State Apprenticeship Councils across the country. About The Young Electric Apprentices

Tim M Young Electric Apprenticeship

Tim McNeeley:

Tim joined the Young Electric team in April of 2019. Tim and his wife, a school teacher, have started a lovely family together. When Tim applied and interviewed at Young Electric, he knew he wanted a career that would allow him to continue to support his family. He was looking for a job that would give him pride knowing that he would have a future and stable foundation as his family continues to grow. He is a very sincere and caring person and a great employee. Tim is a wonderful addition to the Young Electric team! Over Tim’s first year at Young Electric, he has transitioned into our UL 508A panel building shop where he has grown to become our lead panel builder. He also works in the field, building his experience and overall knowledge for the electrical trade. He has a bright future and will make an excellent electrician.

Jaxen Young Electric Apprenticeship

Jaxen Young:

Jaxen started out with Young Electric the summer between his junior and senior years of high school. He knew after his junior year that a traditional 4 year college was not for him. Jaxen was looking for a career where he could work with his hands and mind while having a daily feeling of accomplishment. He started looking into different trades and skilled labor options. He enjoyed welding and his other shop classes in school and even worked for a local Mulvane business which performed maintenance duties at Hawker Beechcraft facilities. He realized that he loved working in an industrial setting and is excited by the industrial opportunities through Young Electric. Young Electric works in numerous industrial locations and installs automation and process controls at some amazing customer facilities. Jaxen loved the work from day one.

Cori Young, President of Young Electric, was reminded of Jaxen's age on his 3rd day of work. He asked him how things were going and his thoughts on  being a Journeyman Apprentice thus far. Jaxen responded, “I think I have this figured out”. Cori, with over 25 years of experience in the trade, who knows you learn something new in this industry every single day, just smiled at his answer. Jaxen has really taken to his position as an apprentice and is a quick learner and hard worker. He is full of excitement and pride in all he does, making Cori Young a very proud father!
